Hi there! I'm Genesis from New York and I am currently exploring Australia 🤠 🌴 🐨 My goal for this next year is to experience and appreciate all that Australia's fascinating nature and unique wildlife have to offer.

For the last 3 years I've been traveling around Europe and working in book publishing but I am ready to start a new adventure in workawaying✌️!

I'm hoping to make new friends from all corners of the world and gain experience in hospitality in hostels, language exchange and education at cafes and schools, and work with animals! I've always wanted to try my hand at beekeeping and experiencing rural life.

I'm the happiest when I'm exploring a new city! I love discovering local desserts, going to flea markets and book stores, and relaxing in nature.

In my down time, I also find joy in keeping a travel scrapbook, writing poetry, textile weaving, watching foreign films, and making travel videos 🤓 I'd really like to learn how to surf this year!

My most recent workaway experience was as a night receptionist and housekeeper at a hostel in Hong Kong. Prior to this, my first workaway experience was working at an English language cafe in Tokyo!

I have a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Portuguese from NYU so I'd love to share my language skills and cultural knowledge with others! I previously worked in film translation and volunteered in translating and transcribing videos and web content.

I spent the last 4 years working in sales analytics at a book publishing company where I juggled multiple tasks including creating and analyzing sales data, building sales presentations, managing meetings, training interns, and customer service.

I have volunteer experience at a cat shelter which included feeding, cage cleaning, socialization, and interacting with potential adopters. I also volunteered at a book donation charity that provides free books for underprivileged children.
