Description

Hello:) My first name is Willem but my preferred name is Daniel. I'm from a small coastal town in the south of Western Australia called Albany where I grew up from the age of 6. Growing up in a small coastal town enabled me to love being in nature, either going to one of the many beautiful beaches we have here, walking amazing bush trails or regurlarly going camping.

I find a part of my happiness comes from being exposed to new experiences, whether that is to be going somewhere I have never been, meeting and creating new friends, or trying a new activity. In the last few years I have started to say yes a lot more where it has lead me to be exposed to a level of discomfort that usually is very rewarding, and that is what motivates me.

More details about my language interests
My family are South African so Afrikaans is spoken around the house, however I had not been taught it growing up. I'd appreciate to learn the language more in depth if such an opportunity should arise. Currently my focus is more on learning French for which I have undertaken a course and I have been slowly making progress over the last few months. I'm very motivated to continue to learn this language.

After completing year 12 I eventually started a degree in Sport Science at University (which I have deferred for now to gain more life experience and to travel) but around that I've had experience in different jobs!

I've worked in hospitality as a waiter and bartender where I learned to get along well with others as a team and develop good communication with coworkers/customers.
I've done jobs in hard labor like landscaping and controlling large machinery in the forestry/grain industry where I learned how to handle working in different rough conditions and elements.

Voluntarily I have in the past helped with small renovations on a house that included some tiling in the bathroom and some scaffolding.

Growing up I've had interactions with animals from different peoples farms and not to mention having two dogs of our own and so I like to believe I work well with animals:)
