Hi everyone! I'm Cora, I'm from Boston, USA, and I'm 21. I'm trying to spend as much time as I can traveling around Central and South America; I'd like to become fluent in Spanish so that's a major goal for myself while I'm traveling.

I'm a TEFL certified teacher, I've volunteered as a teacher both in the States and abroad. In the USA, I've worked primarily with kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder and through workaway I've volunteered as an ESL teacher. I've worked with all different ages but I really love working with kids!!

I also have several years of experience in the service industry; I have worked as a hostess, busser, food runner, waitress, etc. I have hostel experience as well and have worked in many different areas of customer service. I am a fast learner and can pick up new jobs pretty easily, so I am happy to do whatever is asked of me!

In my free time some of my favorite things to do are write/play music (I'm an amateur songwriter and play a few instruments, keeps me busy), make jewelry, and read. I love any kind of DIY project. I'm very social and have met so many amazing people on the road; I hope to keep making traveler friends as I go. I love to explore and I am very curious about life, I am willing to trying anything at least once! I am looking forward to learning more about the world through travel and hopefully work on my writing throughout my experiences. :-)

I am certified to teach English (TEFL) and have experience volunteering with kids of all ages. I have spent time in US public schools, band programs, and foreign language schools. I make my own jewelry (clay rings, wire wrapped necklaces, earrings), I play guitar, piano, and ukulele, I write poetry, songs, and short stories and I love to read! I have been trained as a busser, food runner, hostess, and waitress in addition to working as waitstaff and kitchen staff for a catering company.

What else ...

When I volunteered as an English teacher in Morocco, I was partially in charge of opening a school in El Jadida, which included tasks such as administering entry tests for new students, finding new ways to boost enrollment, and working on the social media for the school.
In my years of hospitality I spent a lot of time working at a restaurant in a popular tourism town. This has been a very transferable skill for hostel work because I was responsible for managing reservations and wait lists, greeting guests, answering phones, and seating tables.
