  • Description

In July 2023 I quit my full-time corporate job to pursue what I call the "plan without a plan". For the next year+ I'm looking to learn about alternative ways of living/intentional communities while getting my hands dirty learning new skills (ie. woodworking, sewing, gardening, animal care, etc.)

This journey has been made possible by my side business which requires me to have internet access 1-2 hours a day. I'm a Canadian, my partner is from San Fransisco and we currently split our time between the two.

This isn't just a way to get free/cheap travel for me, I'm extremely keen to learn and contribute. However, in the case of house/pet sitting, we're equally keen to embrace a quieter way of life while working on our independent projects. No dietary restrictions or accessibility needs. Non-smoker and fully-vaxxed.

  • More details about your skills

Professionally, I'm a "marketing swiss army knife". I have a scrappy mix of skills from social media, graphic design, website design and writing that tend to be perfect for small businesses. While I'm keen to learn new non-digital skills through Workaway, I'm open to taking a look at any needs you may have in this area.

Growing up I was lucky enough to get some experience sewing, riding horses, breeding rabbits, raising chickens and camping. My first farming placement (through WWOOF) had me helping with gardening and landscaping and I recently DIYed a wooden fence. I can't claim to be an expert in any of these things, but with each, I've done enough to know I enjoy them and would love to do more.

I've also worked for a youth charity and a toy company, both of which gave me experience working with kids. In particular, both roles involved getting young people (8-14) interested in world issues, history and entrepreneurship.
