Description
Hi, my name is Timothée, I'm 22 and I've been studying political science for four years now. I decided to take a year off during my Master because I'm convinced that a voluntary experience represents a unique opportunity to put what I've learnt to the test of the real world and to put my knowledge and skills to good use in a concrete and enriching context.
What attracted me in Political science was its multidisciplinary nature and the possibility of acquiring a broad general culture that could satisfy my natural curiosity. In addition, the university I chose had a strong international outlook, welcoming a large number of foreign students and delivering most of its courses in English. This was in line with the keen interest I've always had in other cultures and languages. That's why I joined the association responsible for welcoming foreign students to our school. This experience enabled me to forge links with people from all over the world, reinforcing my open-mindedness and my ability to adapt to multicultural environments.
I also became aware during my higher education studies that the urban field is an object that, like no other perhaps, concentrates within it all elements that have always fascinated me (history, geography, politics, mobility, sociology...). I always tend to have my nose up in the air, looking at buildings and observing what their shape says about their history, their function, their symbolic. I also like to draw imaginary city maps or inventing games on the theme of transport.
With the idea of always discovering more about this field, i decided to embark this year on a long train journey across europe and then to asia in order to learn about other cultures and also to see how they are reflected in the way their cities are organised. In doing so, I hope to bring a relevant vision to the profession that I wish to pursue in this field. My ambition is to help make our cities more resilient, more sustainable and, above all, more integrated into their natural environment and historical heritage.
I am very sociable, resourceful and interested in many things, I also think I'm a very fast learner. My main expectation is to meet and forge links with people from all horizons through teamwork and sharing life on a daily basis. I believe the contact with new people and the concrete results that I'll be able to see from my work can only help me to gain self-confidence and to develop as an independent person, far from my country and everything I've known up until now.Interests
