Hi!

My name is Sydney and I am a fun loving person looking to live a full and happy life and share happiness with as many people as I can. I have a insatiable passion for travel and want to see as much of this beautiful world as I can. I am fluent in English, but I am relearning French and am a beginner with Spanish and Italian. I have taken some time to see the United States and want to explore across the pond!

I am interested particularly in Australia, Spain, France and Italy because they have been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. The main thing that is driving me to travel is the diverse cultures all around the world. I want to learn and appreciate different people and as many different ways of life as I can. I am so eager to find and learn from different perspectives.

I have been volunteering at a hostel in South Lake Tahoe, California and am looking for my next stop! I have loved the community and environment of volunteering at this hostel and would love to find a new place to explore!

I have a very wide range of experience and skills that I would love to utilize and help with whatever you need.

In the past 2 years I have worked in the outdoor industry as an adventure course tour guide, a kayak guide and supervisor in both situations. I adore public speaking and sharing unique and exciting experiences with new people.

I have worked in guest services as a server, ticket sales supervisor and assistant manager. I am very well versed in people management and working under pressure.

I have been volunteering as a receptionist at my current hostel and love every minute! I adore being the first face that a guest sees when they arrive. As the receptionist, I get to give each guest personalized service. I am a problem solver and a great communicator, so I feel I thrive in this position.

I have worked in a few different types of environments to build/renovate buildings. I am familiar with general tool and handiwork. I can use most any power tool with confidence.

I am relearning French and starting on Spanish and Italian. I grew up in the USA and am fluent in English - both reading and writing.

I have a wide range of other useful skills including but not limited to: Computer skills, organization, cooking, cleaning, farming, yard work, sewing, design, etc. I can learn anything with a bit of guidance!
