Description
I've always been an adventurer, constantly seeking new avenues to broaden my horizons and acquire new skills. This drive has led me to embark on a six-month journey across South America, exploring parts of Argentina and Brazil over the last month!
As a recent sociology graduate, I am deeply fascinated by the diverse array of global cultures and perspectives. This passion, combined with my love for nature and animals, fuels my desire and motivation to immerse myself in various different environments.
Beyond academia, I am an enthusiastic DJ in the UK, finding both comfort and connection through the universal language of music.
Additionally, I have always had a passion for working with children. Their curiosity aligns with my love for teaching and sharing my knowledge about the world - creating fulfilling experiences for both myself and the children I have worked with.
My journey with Workaway is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully, and I eagerly anticipate the chance to make a positive impact wherever I go!Interests

Studying Sociology and Criminology at university allowed me to develop a diverse set of skills which are applicable to many roles. I also completed a semester abroad in Atlanta (USA). This exposed me to a diverse academic and cultural environment - whilst also pushing me out of my comfort zone by travelling across the world on my own to study!
My experience working with children and teenagers spans across different settings. As a playworker at a primary school, I acquired many skills. These include supervision and engagement with children, structured scheduling and time management, maintaining a safe and hygienic workspace, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure our workplace was always enjoyable for both children and staff members.
Additionally, I mentored Year 10 students (aged 14-15) from underrepresented backgrounds, conducting weekly presentations to encourage and guide their aspirations. This experience enhanced skills in adaptability, communication, and mentorship.
My most recent role was as a Teaching Assistant in a Secure Unit for children aged 9-17. This role allowed me to assist in various subjects, reinforcing my adaptability skills and desire to spread knowledge and enthusiasm towards learning. Subjects included English, Maths, Science, Art, Sport, Music, Health and Beauty, and Food Technology. This role also meant I spent a lot of 1 on 1 time with the children, meaning I am very comfortable in childcare roles.
I also have experience as a retail assistant working in a clothing store at my university. This has provided me with valuable customer service expertise, including operating tills, managing inventory, and providing great customer service!Age
