Hey :)

My name is Sandra, I’m 33 from Germany and I love to travel and get to know the cultures of the places I visit. Hence my work away profile. I’ve used work away a couple years ago already and stayed on a Ranch. I really enjoyed getting to know the culture and be part of the family, which is what I’m looking for again. I’d like to not just stay for a couple of days but more like a month or longer.
My professional background is academic, I studied chemistry and after finishing my PhD I’ve worked in quality control for pharmaceutical companies. I decided to apply for a work and travel visa for Canada since I wanted to travel for longer again and since the age limit is 35 I’ve decided it’s time to do it right now. I enjoy the outdoors, be it hiking, running, climbing or snowboarding but also cooking, baking and I recently started on cocktail mixing.

I have stayed on a Ranch before and I’m comfortable around horses and the chores this entails. That being said, I’ve been horseback riding and a friend taught me some basics, but I’ve never properly learned it. I’d love to get better at it though :)
I have no trouble around power tools and used them while assembling and deconstructing my kitchen while moving and I built an outdoor couch made of euro pallets this summer.
I also like to work in the garden, planting, harvesting or just cutting them in shape.
Cooking and baking are two of my hobbies and I got great feedback from my last host family ;)
I have no trouble with helping with homework, and I have a niece (4) and nephew (6) and I love to play with them from time to time, but childcare itself is not one of my main skills.

I enjoy board games, especially Settlers of Catan or Cluedo, but basically any board or card games or a game or two of pool :)
I’d love to run a marathon at one point, and if it would be in Canada even better
