  • Description

I am Raphine from Kenya currently traveling the world, I am run organization in Kenya which is empowering HIV positive women through a variety of strategies. I studied Community Development & Sociology at the University and previously worked as Research Assistant for University of California San Francisco(UCSF) research project in Kenya. I am currently the overall coordinator in my organization managing all the projects in my organization from Communal Farm Cooperatives, Poultry Project, Peanut Butter Project, Seamstress Project, Health Project, Table Banking(mini-microfinance), children program among many other activities in the organization. I am also skilled in fundraising, grant writing & management, reporting, resource mobilization, networking and donor relations.

Besides these, I am a organic farmer and in my farm I have several types of birds(Goose, Turkey, Guinea fowl, Ducks, domestic pigeons/doves and rabbits) we are calling the farm "Pith Moromo" which is a local language meaning all inclusive & sufficient farming. For example I use animal wastes in the farm as organic manure/fertilizer in the vegetables farm and also rabbit urine as pests control. In the farm we are also trying to introduce natural herbs/healing plants in the farm and so far we have aloe vera, mints, rosemary plants and Moringa Plants. I am also introducing fruits and so far we have bananas, passion fruit, pawpaw, avocados, orange and mangoes; both are still young and may mature in 5years time.
