We were living off-grid in a caravan we converted in mid-wales UK before we left, working full-time; Eif as a tree surgeon and Phe as a youth engagement officer with a Wildlife charity.
Description
Hi, I’m Phe (she/they)! A Scouse conservationist who’s been living and working in Mid-Wales for the last 5 years. Some of my roles include managing ancient woodland, liaising with farmers and community groups to give Wildlife advice, supporting the breeding season of Ospreys, managing volunteers and running a youth programme to engage and empower young people to take action for nature and wildlife (this one’s my favourite).
Hey I’m Eifion (he/him) I’m currently a full time tree surgeon but I have experience in drystone walling, hedgelaying, timber framing and general carpentry. I grew up helping to manage my friend’s woodland in a traditional manner so learnt many countryside crafts such as charcoal making, woodcarving and gate making. I love to take on practical projects, designing and problem solving.
Together we’re really excited to explore new places, encountering wildlife and meeting new people!Interests

Phe:
My strongest skills are in youth engagement, project management and wildlife surveying.
I’ve been working on a youth project for the past 2 years and just love working with young people, especially around Wildlife. I’m a qualified Forest School Leader Level 3. I recently ran a number of summer camps and residential trips where I introduced climate cafes for our young people to share their feelings around the nature and climate crisis. I adore working with kids exploring the outdoors, playing board games and supporting them in their development. I’m also a keen cleaner and organiser so super happy to take on any au pair/home help work.
Through my career I also have excellent project management skills, having written numerous reports/budget/funding applications. I can support with any of this or other IT/social media work. I’ve also got experience in practical work such as dry stone walling/fencing/felling, but nowhere near to the same level as Eif!
Eif:
My strengths are in design and problem solving when it comes to construction, I’m confident in my carpentry capabilities and capable of working with a wide range of materials. In terms of tree work I possess the qualifications to fell trees over 380mm climb and work with a chainsaw and rig sections to the ground (see photos) I’ve been self employed for 9 years and I’ve been climbing for the last 3. I designed and built a timber frame for a cabin, leading a team of 4 in doing so (see photos). From a degree in countryside management and conservation (that Phe also did and it’s how we met) I have some experience in using mapping software.Age

What else ...
We’re big geeks who love identifying and learning about natural history, whether that’s plants, animals or rocks. And we value being able to contribute to a community. We hope to develop our skills and knowledge of eco-builds so that we can one day create our own 🥰
