Description
Heya :)
I'm Nico, I'm 28 years old and originally from Luxembourg.
I've travelled around a fair bit over the years and also did some volunteering in different places. In 2019 I discovered workaway for the first time and I've since stayed at a couple of projects, helping with anything from gardening and taking care of animals to construction. I had such a fun time volunteering as it allowed me to get involved so much more deeply with the communities I was staying at, meeting wonderful and interesting people.
The experiences I’ve had over the years, from helping to set up a housing cooperative while at Uni to volunteering at our student-run allotment or being part of a group focused on climate action, have all contributed to my desire to find ways to contribute to society in a more constructive and sustainable way, while having a positive impact, not just on the environment, but also on the people around me. In 2019, I first volunteered on small farms in Portugal, experiencing first-hand the joy that can be found in living communally and working with your hands. Since then, I’ve travelled around Europe a fair bit, volunteering on farms in Italy, Romania and Belgium. The experiences I’ve had while working on small farms across Europe, have given me a taste of the meaningful connections and profound learnings that come from engaging with the land and the people who live on it.Interests

Got some experience in gardening, staying on farms and taking care of animals and I've done a bit of carpentry (but would definitely love to learn more!) and I've helped out with different ecological building projects, mostly working with cob. I also used to work at a volunteer run community cafe, helping out on the bar and with their bookshop.
I'm also not too bad at cooking and have cooked for groups of up to 40 people before.
I speak a few languages as well and have done lessons with friends before, so if anyone wants to learn some german, french or luxembourgish we can give that a go :)Age
