  • Description

    Hello everybody!
My name is Matthias, I am from Hamburg, Germany and 60 years old.
After more than 30 years working as a freelance architect I am asking myself what could be next? I met my wife Tina in 1995. Since we have no kids we were always looking for new experiences or challenges and definitely have been travelling around the world a lot (Asia with India, South and North America, Arabic countries)
    What I like:
    - Meet any kind of modern and historical architecture wherever I am
    - Dive in foreign cultures, get to know people from distant countries, enjoy overwhelming nature - meanwhile reflect on yourself and your origin was and still is an elementary part of my live.
    - Sport, be outside and do a lot of outdoor activities - such as bycycling, hiking, canoeing
I do not have any workaway experiences but I:
    - Worked mainly in construction management which taught me in clear thinking, organisation and trouble shooting in any kind of project (new office buildings, hospitals and residential projects and recent conservation projects - such as the careful renovation of brick gothic churches in Northern Germany). While travelling it often happens that I talk to local workers on construction sites on the way (always interesting and mostly very funny)
    - Did internships in Egypt, Poland and Portugal
    - Did church youth work when I was young
    - Do a reading project on an primary school in our neighborhood
    - Speak english fluently and spanish basicly

In 2024 I would like to take a longer period off, travel once again and do a voluntary job, for example:
    - Help at a primary school in Santiago de Chile (social and sport activities, manual skills, reading)
    - Go to India and offer a hand on social projects (been to Mumbai, Rajasthan, Chennai and Kolkata)
    - Meet my brother in Philadelphia and cross by car the United States

Would be great to hear from You, see You
    Matthias

As a native German I can imagine to teach that language - except a total understanding of German grammar... My English is good enough to teach on a B2-C1 level. For Spanish I probably need more input
