Description
My name is Mary and I have just embarked on my first solo trip all the way to Europe from New Zealand!
I am loving the history and the atmosphere in Italy and I really want to learn to speak Italian.
I love walking, in NZ I am a hiking guide on the Milford track.
I really enjoy reading in my free time, and also making/crafting and painting.
I enjoy being around people of all ages and I have had experience working with and coaching tennis to children.Interests

I would love to learn Italian, I have been on Duolingo and find that it is good, but being immersed in the language would be amazing. I would also be happy to teach English, I enjoy helping people and to be able to be part of someone’s language learning would be amazing.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

Throughout high school I was an assistant tennis coach for children aged 5-15. I also worked summer jobs in retail and at a catering company.
At University, I was involved in the rowing club, I love to go for walks and exercise for fitness.
After finishing my degree I am taking some time off to travel, to save for this I worked as a guide on the milford track which was the most amazing job! It was long hours but I got to chat to the guests about their travels and lives. Customer service was a huge part of this job as we were always available to the walkers for any of their questions or concerns. Public speaking was quite a big part of the job as well, every night a guide would present the following day’s itinerary, key places we are walking through and history of the walk.
I found that this job was ideal for me because overall, I want to help people and helping people accomplish a great walk did that, and even in smaller ways, answering questions if they were worried really made me enjoy it.Age

What else ...
I am a very open person, I love experiencing and learning new things.
I have recently been into crafting with clay to make trinket trays and small cups. I play several sports, tennis my main one, netball, rowing and I used to play field hockey.
After returning to NZ for summer there I am thinking about travelling again, potentially to come back to Italy, so I would be able to visit again! Some more information
