Description

I am 24 years of age currently living in the United Kingdom and am of South African descent. I am a part-time, remote student on a masters in nature conservation at the University of Edinburgh. I just finished my undergraduate in Classics at the same University.

I really enjoy volunteering and the sense of fellowship and community it fosters. As a budding conservationist I especially love working outdoors in natural environments, for such work makes me feel connected to the natural world - and my fellows alongside me. I enjoy nothing more than meeting like-minded people of different experience with whom to work and learn and broaden my horizons along with the challenge and excitment of discovering, adapting to, and working in new places.

So far my voluntary work with conservation organisations and societies has been regular over the last 2 years in Scotland and my local county of Norfolk. I am used to working in inclement conditions and in a range of environments. I spend a great deal of my spare time outdoors in all weathers.

I have some limited experience with animals and livestock, my family keeps alpacas and chickens and I have helped out on other homesteads with their animals.

In my summers away from university I have worked in garden nurseries tending to plants and completing a variety of physical jobs.

I also enjoy cooking and learning new recipes.

My spare time I primarily spend outdoors in natural environments, reading, or playing sport - of which I play badminton, tennis and have recently learnt to sail. I also enjoy fishing, mostly on the fly.
