Hey there!
My name is Magdalena, I'm 25 years old, and from Berlin, Germany. I finished my Bachelor's degree last year and am taking some time to travel. During my trip so far, I hitchhiked through Switzerland, France, Portugal, and Spain and then crossed the Atlantic on a sailing boat to reach the Caribbean. Now I made my way to Latin America and would like to get to know places more in depth, not just passing through. I love the opportunity to get to know a place and its culture, as well as to meet new people and obtain new skills that Workaway offers!
In the past, I have been volunteering on several different organic farms through the wwoof organisation. I am interested in learning more about organic agriculture, permaculutre, the keeping of animals as well as sustainable building.
I am excited about the diverse possibilities and projects that Workaway offers and can imagine a number of different things that I would love to get insights to. For example, I would be enthusiastic to offer my help in charity work or in hospitality.
Generally, I enjoy being in nature a lot, hiking, biking, going swimming in lakes and the sea or surfing. My other interests include art (I love to paint and draw), handicrafts (knitting and crocheting) and literature.
Overall, I am motivated to learn all kinds of new things and excited to do so while traveling!

Traveling in Latin America, I would love to get better at speaking Spanish. I speak a little, but I would like to get to a conversational level. I am fluent in English and German, which I could also teach. Additionally, I speak French.

I have been volunteering on several different farms in Germany, Norway, and the UK and also worked as a harvesting hand for grapes, strawberries, and asparagus in my hometown. Thus I have experience with different tasks in vegetable and fruit farming (preparing beds, weeding etc.) and also in working with animals (sheep, chickens, goats).
Previously I worked in cafés, a bakery, and a small shop for art supplies, gaining experience in service and customer interaction.
I also have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and have done several internships in the field, working in pediatric psychiatry, a rehabilitation clinic, and assisted living.
Most of all, I am always enthusiastic to gain new experiences and learn more! :)
