Hello to each and every one of us that has visited our profile! We're Madara and Nico - a Latvian/Chilean couple that's ready to continue our Workway journey (we've been backpacking the worl for the past almost two years so we're excited to explore and do more!).

We met in December of 2022 in Auckland, New Zealand, where Madara was on a Working holiday visa and Nicolas was also searching opportunities to work in farms there. We decided that we should make this a journey so we worked together in a remote kiwi farm in Northern Island of New Zealand and then picked apples a bit further north. After that, we took a well deserved 1.5 month vacation to Southeast Asia where we visited many countries and encountered many adventures. After that, we went on a couple of month short Canada & the USA journey which has ended just now and lead us here in Mexico!

We are a good and well-working team of humans that are looking for new experiences and stories to live through so looking for workaway to help with it!

Genuine human connections are very important. We're all about communication, humor, fun, helping others, empathy, understanding, and making the best out of every situation. We feel the happiest when travelling to new places, when being in nature and when doing something worthwhile and significant to impact others lives.

We're adventurous, often spontaneous and definitely hungry for new challenges and adventures.

Madara has done different kind of things in her life before (from corporate jobs, to working in farms) so it has definitely broadened her perspective on things in life. Right now, she's on my self-discovery journey and kind of have been since September 2022.She believes that we each are responsible for our life, the decisions we make and the future we want to make for ourselves. She always asks herself - if not now, then when? If she doesnt do something for herself, nobody else will and that is what keeps her going on in life and always getting herself into (good) trouble and adventures. She loves the challenge of pushing herself out of her comfort zone, testing her limits and always figuring out life (even when she doesnt).

Nico is also a versatile and multi-talanted artist person, He's been a Techno DJ for 5 years and has played in different countries, as well as he has his own clothing design line and has painted murals in various hostels. He's also a photagrapher.

We hope to use Workaway to further find ourselves and to meet and find new people and experiences along the way. We think & hope that this upcoming journey will be unforgettable and marvelous!

More details about my language interests
Madara has previously taught foreigners in Latvia Latvian language (adults) and Russian-speaking adults and teenagers Latvian language. As well as she's taught English to Russian and Latvian speaking kids. She is fluent in English, Latvian, Russian and is approximately B2 level in Spanish and continuously learning.Nico's fluent in Spanish and speaks very minimal English, but is eager to learn (or teach Spanish to others)!

What else ...

We both are super open-minded and happy people. We are social, love to go to a good party (or throw one), but also love being outdoors and going on hikes and explorations. Board games, darts, pool and stuff like that is also our favorite. As well as we like to go to the gym and stay fit and also go to the swimming pool.

We try to always entertain people with our travel stories, search for new adventures or simply enjoy the beauty of life through meeting other people along our path!
