  • Description

Hi all my name's Amanda but everyone calls' me Manni,

I spent the first 28 years of my life in Australia growing up in less than ideal conditions which taught me a lot of life lessons but despite this I never stopped it from allowing myself to experience life, and spent a few holidays overseas in New Zealand with friends, Bali with family and Norfolk Island.

After much research I decided at 28 to undertake a backpacking holiday/take up a nomadic lifestyle in my own country for 2 years travelling and experiencing my own country whilst fruitpicking and volunteering through various websites like woofing, worldpacker and workaway.

My working life I've had various roles in a few different industries, from working in commercial kitchens and bakeries, factories, hostels and hotels as well as farm work.

I settled in Sydney Australia for 2 years whilst researching and planning my current trip and avoiding covid, and am currently residing in Canada whilst on a 2 year working holiday visa but am spending time between work seasons in the US.

One of the main reasons I chose to work in Canada was the appeal of being able to travel to the US during the 2 years. I have more than a handful of places and experiences I plan to have in the US that I will be able to tick off my bucket list, not to mention the countless experiences I plan to have in Canada as well.

I've been in Canada now since the end of April and have loved every minute of it. I got to experience my first work season in the beautiful unique location of Dawson city in the Yukon, and recently finished spending a few months relaxing and travelling through certain parts of the US as well as spending a week travelling from LA to Phoenix Arizona on a bikepacking trip.

I'm now back in Canada in Vernon BC for my FIRST ever SNOW season :).

After North America I have no plans to return to Australia and am actually already in the process of planning and researching my travel plans to spend extended time after Canada in Europe.

"Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."

    Peace

  • More details about your skills

I have had quite a life, being the eldest daughter and granddaughter I spent my childhood and teenage life helping look after my siblings and cousins.

I have a passion for music, art and comedy. I studied a music business course in Australia and received an advanced diploma for it, but am always open to learn anything in those creative industries.

I've got a lot of expertise with regards to my work history I've been an apprentice baker, kitchenhand/ line cook, I've been a factory worker building pallets, I've worked and volunteered on various farms and my most recent employment has been in the housekeeping/reception industry.

My stepfather taught me how to ride quads/atvs at 15. I'm a pretty open minded person and willing to adapt to whatever life throws my way.

  • What else ...

I'm not really a big party animal, but still love to have fun. I prefer reading and creating. I love hiking and exploring new places. I love to meet new people and learn about their life experiences.

I'm pretty down to earth and love to laugh and rarely get offended. My transient upbringing brought me to various different environments from farms to coastal towns, large cities, and suburbs, I am quite adaptable and a pretty fast learner. What else....oh I can juggle :)
