 - Description- Hi, thanks for checking out my profile!
My name is Ksenia, female, 32 years of age and I am ready to discover the world 😊
I wish that I could give an honest an deliberate answer to the question ‘who am I?’, but I am afraid I can’t. 10 years ago I thought I wanted to be a musician, I was mad about classical music and not too bad at playing the violin. Now I have a violin degree and a musicology degree, but now I am thinking ‘is this it? Is this who I really am, what I really want to do?’ Over the past few years I discovered there are so many things I like: nature, having a vegetable garden, animals, reading, hiking, travelling, other cultures, other languages, and so on… After 10 years of study I am sure of one thing: I need a gap year!
So, why workaway? The answer is simple: I’m super curious to get to know how other people over the whole world live. I love travelling, but as a tourist you never fully integrate in the country you’re visiting. Workaway gives this fantastic opportunity to ‘blend in’, to taste what life is like elsewhere, to learn different habits, get to know people and their views, and above all: to contribute and being able to help others, to feel useful 😊
Moreover, I think meeting new, different people is an enrichment, and this way you get to know yourself and the world better. Though, I must admit, I am not the most chatty person, especially in the beginning I can give the impression of being quiet and ill at ease, but once I’m used to new people I can be quite sociable.
My positive characteristics: I am a quick learner, studious, independent, trustworthy, respectful, kind.
Negative: stubborn, impatient, wanting/doing too many things at once.
Other things I like: swimming, sewing, dog‑walking, drinking tea, playing board games, quizzing, visiting museums, learning new languages and walking in the rain.

 - More details about your skills- What kind of help can you expect from me?
Well, as I absolutely adore animals, I would be happy to do any task which involves animals 😊 feeding, cleaning, walking, training, cuddling,… you name it, I’ll do it!
If you want to learn some new languages, I could happily teach you some Dutch (Flemish) and Russian (maybe a bit of french too). I would also gladly share my knowledge of music. I am not sure yet whether I want to bring my violin along, but you can always ask 😊
I’m also very interested in living off-grid and in self-sustainability. I have absolutely no experience in these things and I have no idea how to start this kind of project, so I am especially looking forward to meeting people who have this kind of experience. I would be so happy if I could help with anything in the garden or by building something.
If you look for anyone to help in the household, do some cooking and cleaning, I would be glad to help with these tasks as well. I have a 13 years younger brother, so I have some experience with child care.
Also the last years I had lots of jobs as a work student. I have experience working in a bar/tavern, in a supermarket, administration stuff (I like administration!), and teaching.
By the way: I am struggling to get rid of some corona and thesis- kilograms, so any physical tasks would be very much appreciated ;-)
