  • Description

    Hello everyone,
my name is Judith and I'm a student from the north of Germany. I already got my bachelor’s degree and I'm working currently on my master’s degree in Biology. Since studying can be a little theoretical I want to do something else in between my courses.
Before I started studying I have spend a few months in Scotland and England and I also had a wonderful summer of 2023 in England and Ireland. I hope I can travel some more in 2024 and learn about different cultures and peoples perspectives while helping and exploring.
I consider myself an easy-going, polite and open-minded person. I enjoy meeting new people and challenging myself to learn new things. I am quite active and play handball for as long as I can remember and have also tried riding and swimming. Overall, I like being outside and go for walks or a run. Also, I enjoy reading books and drinking tea (mostly combined). Cooking and baking are some things I love and I'm not a picky eater at all, even though I prefer vegetarian food.
Another thing to mention about me is that I like all kinds of animals. I grew up with chickens, some pets and close to friends that lived on a farm. I have experience with dogs because I walked dogs from an animal shelter and also experienced to “workaway” for a dog breeder in Scotland for four and a half weeks.
I’m a child-friendly person. I baby sited for my neighbors as a teenager and was an Au-pair 2017 at a family with two daughters (7 and 8 years old) near London. Interacting with people or teaching in general is not that difficult for me, since I’ve worked (and currently still am working) as a student assistant at my university in different courses for students.
But more than working with children I enjoy being outside and working with my hands. I don’t mind getting them dirty or do crafting and building. In the spring and summer I'm helping weekly in my grandpa's garden and I’ve worked for six weeks at a plant nursery for perennial gardening of native and endangered plants. Because of that (and because of my biology degree) I’m pretty good at working with plants and have knowledge of flora and fauna.
All in all, I’m a curious person who wants to broaden their horizons and hopes to meet other nice people by taking some time off to do something else than studying at home.

I am practically minded and don’t mind getting my hands dirty. I can cook and bake and help in a household. My working experience is quite diverse. I have worked in a little store and as a waitress for a short time. I’ve also been a student assistant at my university and know how to care for children, animals and plants. I’m learning quickly and don’t mind doing new things.
