Hi there,
I am Jonas and the fate of life events has steered me to workaway. At 29 years old, I would describe myself as an empathetic, honest and humorous person who is looking for the next adventure.

Traveling and broadening my horizons is giving me great happiness and getting to know new people, cultures and situations energizes me.
So far I have traveled to 16 countries and would like to combine my passion for traveling with meaningful activities to help make the world a little bit better.

More details about my language interests
Languages and the art of communication have fascinated me for a long time. When traveling, I have always been interested in the different languages and it was important for me to know at least a few words in the local language. In my professional experience, I was able to teach courses in both German and English at a German university and I deepened my knowledge by acquiring a Higher Education Teaching Certificate. In general, I enjoy helping people understand a subject.

From an early age, I learned from my grandpa how to do a variety of jobs on our family farm and to this day I still enjoy helping my family when I have the chance. I also extended my craftsmanship skills during school vacations and full time as a carpenter after graduating from high school. I then traveled to the US for 2 months to improve my English as part of an Intensive English Program at an American university before starting my studies in Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt. I completed my studies in 2021 with a degree as a Master of Science and was able to gain valuable experience as a scientific assistant, including conducting experiments and working as a tutor. I also earned money as an employee in a restaurant during my studies. After graduating, I worked as a research assistant at the university and was able to gain further exciting experience in a wide range of areas, from academic teaching and personal student counseling to personnel and project management.

What else ...

I started road cycling during the COVID-pandemic and would generally consider myself an active person. I like to do sports to feel good and have tried everything from CrossFit to Pilates and yoga. In addition to my driver's license, I also have the right to drive large agricultural machinery, which I always enjoy doing in Germany. I am also always interested in culinary delights and love to enjoy a delicious meal or a good drink.
