  • Description

I've had this cottagecore fantasy of getting away from society and becoming self-sufficient for quite some time, but I think this would be much more fun with some like-minded people. To orient myself on this lifestyle I'd love to visit different ecological/permaculture farms, gardens, and alternative living communities to gain inspiration and improve my practical skills :)

I am a curious and open-minded person and I tend to switch between hobbies quite a lot, but in general i like the following categories:

Sports (I have done lots of rollerblading, yoga, weightlifting, aikido, and calisthenics)

Nature (going on hikes or cycling in the forests or mountains, wild and zoo animals)

Spirituality (learning about buddhism/hinduism, practicing meditation and yoga)

Music (many different genres, but recently into contemporary indie and/or experimental trance stuff)

Visual arts (watching films, visiting musea, drawing mandalas) and performance arts (visiting and performing theatre plays, concerts, open mic poetry)

    Games (both online and boardgames)

Reading books (mainly fantasy and science-fiction, but also some philosophy and literature).

I get the most joy from sharing these experiences and ideas with other people, and I'd love to see new things!

  • More details about your skills

I'd say I am a decent cook, with a preference for simple but tasty and nutritious meals. Over the years I've had part-time jobs at multiple cafes and restaurants and volunteered at my local 'green kitchen' where we cook vegan meals using leftover vegetables from the market that would be thrown away otherwise.

I don't have extensive experience with craftsmanship, but I have assembled plenty of IKEA furniture and helped to sand and paint some windows at a previous workaway. Furthermore, I have helped in the garden at three previous workaways planting, harvesting, weeding, mulching and pruning. I have used a range of common tools before (hammer, screwdriver, shovel, scraper, electric drill, sander, hedge trimmer, and chainsaw) and I pick up handy work quite fast :) I am also in decent shape and happy to help with any physical labor (at my peak in the gym I did a 80kgx5 bench press and 120kgx5 squat if that means anything to you)

My major professional experiences have come from my Master's degree in chemistry, having finished one half-year internship designing drug molecules to target the endocannabinoid system.
In addition, I did another half-year internship characterising ocean plastic pollution with The Ocean Cleanup. I don't expect this to be very applicable knowledge, but if you are curious about these topics I will gladly tell you about my experience :). In general, I am quite familiar with STEM and I have tutored high school students in these topics.

I have also helped organise an introduction camp for 50 people at my student's association and performed an amateur theatre play here. Furthermore, I have lead a series of guided meditations at the local student wellbeing centre loosely following the buddhist brahmavihārās.
