¡Hola queridos anfitriones!

Me llamo Jesper, tengo 24 años, y soy de Holanda. Desde hace algunos años, he estado aprendiendo Español. Me encanta la idioma! Sin embargo, mi experiencia había consistido mayormente de clases en Holanda.

Por ese razón, me fui a Mexico en Octubre de 2023 para inmersionarme en la cultura y la idioma. He viajado un poco en hostales, y a veces me pasaba bien, especialmente con personas hispanohablantes. Pero, mis mejores experiencias en este viaja han sido con personas locales, vivir y compartir y trabajar juntos.

Soy una persona que quiere comunicarse con otras personas, y también puedo pasar tiempo solo con un libro o mi diario. Cuando creo en la causa, trabajo duro y no dudo en ayudar a mis compañeros. Sobre todo, siempre quiero moverme y ser activo con el cuerpo. Siempre he tenido mucho ambición, y llegué a un punto en que estoy buscando como puedo usar este calidad para algo bien y real.

Por eso, la combinación de quedarme con personas hispanoblantes mientras trabajar sería un buen opción para mí.

Algunas de mis intereses son los deportes (tenís, correr, fitness), cocinar, vivir saludable, leer, escuchar y hacer música (aunque solo puedo tocar el piano un poquito).

Antes de venir a Mexico, fui asesor legal en un ONG dedicado a asegurar que empresas bajan sus emisiones de carbono. Todo mi trabajo y también mis estudios de derecho han sido en inglés. Por eso, puedo hablar el Holandes (mi idioma nativo) y el Inglés con fluidez. Con solo 22 años, ya tuve reuniónes y discusiones con personas con posiciones al nivel ejecutive (directores etc.) en algunas de las empresas y inversores institucionales mas grandes del mundo. A pesar de este gran opurtunidad, sentía que no podría continuar en este carrera, por que ya sentía que habían otras cosas para ver en el mundo.

Cómo ves, también ya tengo un nivel de Español bastante bien para comunicar en una manera básica. Claro que voy a mejorar esto mientras quedaré en países hispanohablantes.

Para hablar un poco más sobre mis calificaciones y experiencias hablaré en Inglés:

By nature, I am a communicator, mediator and team leader. As I am usually in good physical shape, I never mind going the extra mile to finish the job. I like to cook, and can prepare quite a few dishes well, but I don’t have that much experience yet with cooking with home grown ingredientes for example. It’s something I would very much like to learn however.

I am good at languages, critical thinking and ensuring team cooperation.

What I am hoping to get better at are technical jobs. I hope to gain insight into how to start constructing an object or how to put things together to turn it into something new. With proper instructions, I can certainly work on technical projects by executing. I am hoping this will also increasy my ability to do these things myself.

UPDATE: I have worked two weeks on a construction site in Mexico to build earthquake resilient schools.

I like kids a lot, but haven’t grown up with younger siblings and have never baby sitted anyone. However, if there would ever be an opportunity to learn aboit what it takes to take care of kids, I would love to do so. Animal care taking also interests me a lot.

I don’t have any experience yet with farming, but it’s of great interest to me. I’m hoping to get the opportunity to learn somewhere how to grow food sustainably.

What else ...

I love to exercise and I am generally good at it. I played football, tennis and golf all my life and have run for many years. I’d like to learn how to surf, or any other sport that I’m still to know about.

I believe in the art of conversation. Sitting down with people to talk 1 on 1, no matter the language barriers, can teach us great things. I believe this is also the case for young and old and I would love to play a role in making lives better through conversation.
