Our gallery shows Sandra and me in a village-school in rural Zambia, teaching english. It was our second job far away from home. I`ll never forget these kids: they were dirty, they were sweaty - but these wide-open eyes, this enthusiasm, the way they didn´t want to let us go! I had two of them on my arms, three others jumping at me...Pure bliss.
This describes best our prime motivation to travel and work in far-away places (well, from OUR point of view in Germany). Widen the horizon and get a closer insight into other peoples´way of living - there are so many ways to live a life and so many wonderful people along the way - wow. Makes one humble.
I´ve worked on expedition ships as a lecturer for 15 years and visited the remotest islands in the South Sea (Pitcairn, Mangareva, Palmerston Atoll). But I was only passing through. The real insight was my half year sabbatical I spent on some of the islands later on in my life. We are a little older than most here on workaway I guess, but still hungry to immerse in cultural diversity. And now we venture on Sandra´s sabbatical in southeast Asia. We are a well-travelled reliable couple with skills in art-work (kids and adults), creative writing, journalism, teaching, cultural events, literary performances.Interests

Andreas has majored in comparative linguistics, though that was a lifetime ago. But it is still part of the curiosity mentioned at the beginning - plus it´s the idiom that makes the difference in how one looks at the world.Skills and knowledge we'd like to share or learn
