Working outside: gardening, helping on farms, sustainable activities. Teaching, cooking.

Description

For many years I worked as a language teacher and later on as a journalist on foreign affairs and sustainability, Though retired, I still work occasionally and voluntary jobs in my hometown Amsterdam.
Having more time and with one grown-up son, I still would like to do some useful work abroad, for instance to work with children or students as a TEFL certified English teacher. Or as a help with gardening, harvesting, doing things around your house and/or garden.
Next to contributing, I'm very interested in meeting people and get acquainted with different cultures.
I'm a social and responsible person, flexible in working hours. Enjoy being amongst people, but don't have to be entertained.
Via Workaway I worked as an assistant English teacher in Casablanca and Fes, Morocco, stayed with a family Iran to teach their girl English, worked in a B&B in Scotland, and at a farm and in a garden in Spain and Italy. Also followed Arabic courses in Oman last year.
References of hosts in the UK, Spain, Morocco and Iran are available.
Finally, I am in excellent condition (I'm a runner, play tennis) and have enough (life) experience (I think ;-) and energy to contribute to your project. I like to do this in the Middle East: Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine.

Interested in cultures from all over the world and in telling about Dutch culture.
Love to cook good and healthy food, love to be in nature. Eat mostly vegetarian, but sometimes I treat my friends and myself on a good chicken from the oven ;-). Non smoker. I like working in my own city garden and have some knowledge of plants.
