Description
I love being of service to others any chance I get! I enjoy spending as much time outdoors as possible, doing things like cycling, hiking, and even sleeping under the stars!
I graduated with a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland in Spring '23 and set off on a cross-country bike ride 10 days later. Since I signed up last summer, I have raised over $7,400 for the Ulman Foundation and its mission to ensure no young adult faces cancer alone. I lived on my bike with 11 other strangers (who are now friends), raising more money and more awareness for the foundation as we biked through 13 unique states (10 were new to me) in 70 days. The experiences I've had at college and this trip have inspired me to live a life of service and adventure -- I've found these two things to be the most fulfilling for me and for others.
I want to continue exploring the world and potential careers so I decided to throw caution to the wind a little and stayed in California for a month after the trip. Now, I'm headed back East to my hometown in Maryland and then to New York! I'm interested in serving with AmeriCorps or another similar program but have yet to find the right fit and am eager to help where I can on WorkAway to learn more about myself, others, and the world around us!

I like to consider myself a life-long learner. I have a BS in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland and participated in several organizations on campus like the Sustainable Ocean Alliance, Red Cross Club, and the Kinesiology Student Organization. I also worked as an intern for the Ulman Foundation and have raised over $6,000 to support their mission of ensuring no young adult faces cancer alone. I have been one of the directors of the 4K For Cancer ride and feel very privileged to have been in leadership positions throughout my life. That said, I feel like I learn from others more than I teach them; I value listening to new perspectives with an open mind.
