Description

I am an active and curious traveller from Australia who is trying to broaden her horizons and learn about different cultures. I started studying Japanese at the beginning of 2023 and want to test my new knowledge.

I enjoy being creative and partaking in fun activities, such as exploring nature, drawing, and 3d modelling. As I gym regularly and am strong for my size, I am able to do physical labour, which I have also done in my current job!

Whilst I do enjoy a little bit of sightseeing, I am typically drawn to staying in places for extended periods and exploring the little delights of everyday life in these areas. Seeing how different cultures and people spend their day, and what brings them joy, subsequently brings me joy and helps me to approach my life in a more positive way. I look forward to sharing knowledge and new experiences with those who host me :)

Explanation:

My current job has exposed me to a lot of different experiences. I work for a surveying and geospatial firm, and am rotating through its divisions to learn about all parts of the business. In this role I have participated in both field and office work. The field work involved many hot or wet days in nature spent navigating through fields, trees and dense bush to accomplish our jobs. The equipment involved was heavy and had to be carried throughout the whole day. I am, therefore, accustomed to manual labour and enjoy the challenges it can bring.

In my spare time I enjoy being creative and use it as a way to relax. Though, I would not consider myself talented in either drawing or painting, I am very happy to playing along with i.e., kids in such activities.

What else ...

I enjoy being active and going to the gym. Taking day hikes, going on (slow) scenic runs, and lifting weights always help me feel amazing!

I am also currently learning how to make some wooden furniture and will have completed the short course by the end of 2023. Though, the skills learned do not mean I can make any type of furniture, I think the skills may be applicable to some workaway hosts.

I love drawing and 3d design. My work also involves some 3D modelling of buildings, which is something I enjoy so much. Architecture and urban planning is a big interest of mine.
