Hi,

We are Florence (30, architect) and Sam (31, teacher) and we are travelling around Spain, Argentina and Chile until September 2024. Our aim is to live and work in rural areas, especially on farms and building projects.

After spending 8 weeks on a Workaway in Southern Spain, watering and strimming orchards, doing a little carpentry and a lot of digging, we're excited to continue our journey working in new places!

Florence:
Back at work I designed large scale buildings, drawing on the computer and doing model making and graphic design - but also loves physical building! I have built a temporary room for an exhibition in German, a glowing giant mushroom installation in the forest at a music festival UK, and a slip cast construction sculpture at a workshop in Mexico, and currently building a canopy (the arch in the pictures!) for outdoor workshops at a community theatre in London. I have some woodwork and metalwork skills, and can plan spaces, logistics, I can draw and have an understanding of construction.

Sam:
Sam is a qualified teacher, specialising in 'early years' ages 4-11, but able to teach all ages! Sam ran the football club at the school he worked in and loves
going on walks in his spare time. Before getting into teaching he studied international relations and politics, and has worked in restaurants, for local political groups, and in a hospital doing health and safety and coordination. He enjoys doing physical (and repetitive!) work like moving heavy objects, digging, chopping, strimming etc.

We like cooking and eating food, comedy nights, BBQs, playing cards, reading, live music and hiking! We have walked the West Highland Way in Scotland and the Portuguese Camino de Santiago. Florence lived in Mexico City for a year in 2016/17, working in an architecture office and exploring the amazing country during holidays and weekends!

In his spare time Sam likes keeping up with current affairs, politics, history and films. Florence likes making all sorts of things (cards, clothes, drawing...!) and doing small building projects!

Somos Florence (39, arquitecta) y Sam (31, maestro) y estamos viajando alrededor de España, Argentina y Chile hasta Septiembre 2024. Nuestra meta es vivir y trabajar en el campo, especialmente en las granjas y proyectos de construcción.

Después de 8 semanas en un Workaway en el sur de España, regando y desbrozando los huertos, haciendo un poco de carpintería y mucha excavación, estamos entusiasmados continuar nuestro viaje trabajando en lugares nuevos!

Florence:
De vuelta al trabajo, diseñaba edificios a gran escala, dibujando en la computadora y haciendo maquetas y diseños gráficos - pero también me encanta construyendo con las manos! He construido una habitación temporal para un exposición en Alemán , una instalación de hongos grandes que respaldan en un bosco para un festival de la musica, y una escultura usando una tecnica de construyendo un yeso. Actualement estoy construyendo una canopia (el arch en las fotos!) para talleres afuero para un teatro en Londres. Tengo algunas habilidades de carpintería, puedo planear espacios, logisticos, puedo dibujar y tengo un entendamiento de la construcion.

Sam:
Sam es maestro calificado especializado con ninos jovenos (4-11 años), pero con habilidades para enseñar todos los edades!. Sam dirigió el club de futbol en la escuela donde trabajó, y le gusta caminar (mucho!) para un hobby. Antes de ser profesor, esudió relaciones internacionales y la politica, y ha trabajado en restaurantes y en un hospital. Le interesan mucho las peliculas sobre cuestiones de sociopolitico. Le disfruta hacer trabajo físico (y repetitivo!) como mover objetos pesados, excavación, cortar leña, usando la desbrozadora etc.

Disfrutamos cocinar, comer (!), noches de la comedia, barbacoas, jugando las cartas, leyendo, musica en vivo. A Sam le encanta mantenerse al dia con temas de actualidad, la politica, historia y las peliculas. A Florence le gusta hacer cosas como coser la ropa, dibujar, correr. A los dos, nos gusta senderismo y hemos andando el West Highland Way en Escosia y el Camino de Santiago, ruto Portugues. Florence vivió en Mexico por un año el 2016/17, trabajando en una oficina de arquitectura.
