We have a confirmed job for summer 2024 but will be seeking paid work after this time. Please feel free to send us a message!
Our next destination:
Norway - from May 2024 View allDescription
We are both hard working, kind, calm and open-minded, seeking to learn new ways of living in harmony with our surroundings. Meeting fellow humans and learning new skills is something we are really excited about. We're really interested in learning more about permaculture, natural, sustainable ways of living and our greatest passion is caring for animals both wild and domesticated.

We both have a wide range of practical skills including:
Gardening-
Dan was a gardener in the UK for 6 years doing mainly garden maintenance jobs eg. strimming, mowing, weeding, plant care, hedge trimming, tool/machine maintenance and some landscaping.
Emma learnt some gardening skills like weeding, mowing, hedge trimming and leaf blowing in summer 2023 as part of a campsite warden job.
Bee keeping-
Dan spent a year learning from an experienced bee keeper in his local area (UK)
We both absolutely adore bees and really enjoy learning about and caring for them.
Cooking-
We both love cooking food for people and seeing them enjoy it! When we were younger we worked in kitchens but recently we mainly just cook for each other now. We particularly love making curries and we are both vegetarian.
Hospitality and tourism-
We have both worked in Hospitality for 10 or more years including bars, cafes and restaurants both waiting on and in the kitchen/behind the bar, hotels both on reception and cleaning rooms. We are both hardworking, responsible and have lots of experience with cleaning, reception work, and looking after guests.
Animal care-
We have both grown up with lots of different animals our whole lives.
Dan's mother works in a vets and used to bring home lots of animals that needed adopting.
Emma studied Animal Behaviour and Welfare at Chester University and has lots of experience volunteering at rescue and rehabilitation centres. (including centres in Guatemala, Namibia and Thailand with a wide variety of big and small creatures.) Her favourite animals are any kind of felines and corvids!
We both have experience with rescuing and rehoming animals i.e. feeding, organising vaccinations and arranging adoption.
Mushroom foraging & mushroom cultivation-
We both have a lifetime of experience identifying fungus in the UK including edible species, but our main fascination is in identifying and photographing toxic species and we are both really looking forward to finding different species around the world.
Dan also has experience in cultivating edible species like Oyster mushrooms (p.Osreatus others), Shiitake (l.edodes) and Wine Cap mushrooms (s.Rugosoannulata). He learnt how to grow them indoors in buckets on straw/sawdust and also made mushroom beds and logs outside in the garden.
He would really like to learn how to combine mushroom cultivation with permaculture.
Dan has basic general handy man skills i.e. simple construction, measuring, building walls, using a variety of tools, putting up fences, digging holes etc.
Emma loves arts and crafts and is looking to learn more traditional crafts and skills.
We are both hard workers, can work independently and are open to learning more skills.
We have both worked a season (summer 2023) as campsite wardens in Devon UK. We have recently been at a workaway caring for animals in Morocco (dogs, cats, horses, donkeys and a camel!), and also volunteering at a cat sanctuary in Spain!Age
31 & 34
What else ...
Dan has dual citizenship (Irish and British) and is in a civil partnership with Emma so we both have the right to live and work in the EU.
