Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Edwin and I am from Malaysia, but I've also lived in Singapore, Germany and Spain for studies or work.

I've just recently finished my master's program in Pamplona, and I am doing a bit of travelling before I start work to get to know Spain even more and also to fully enjoy my time before worklife takes over.

During travelling, I enjoy connecting with people and learning new skills as it feels more meaningful and makes a journey much more memorable.

I trained as a mechatronics engineer, and spent a brief period in corporate life in the manufacturing industry. After that decided to get into economics and finance to broaden my fields a little bit more.

I enjoy working with my hands, and can organise things very well, probably as a result of my engineering background and also in my experience planning trips with friends. I consider myself clean, well-organised, and hardworking.

Although from Malaysia, which isn't traditionally known as an English-speaking country, my family grew up using English and so I consider myself a native in it.
In school I learned Mandarin and Malay, and also I know Hokkien which is the dialect of my hometown.
Additionally, a few years ago I picked up German for my studies and obtained a B2 level in it.

I would be more than happy to share all my skills and knowledge, as well as all my language experience with you. In my opinion, both sides learn and gain something new when we are sharing.

I spent a week in Oostend helping out with an insulating project, and it was a great experience for me as I could learn a lot and had a good time with the other workawayer. Overall recommended!

Edwin spent a couple of days with us telling the students about Malaysia. He is such a nice person, very easy-going and friendly. We had such a lovely time listening to all the facts about his country. Definitely, Malaysia is on the bucket list!!

I really enjoyed my stay with Alain, Julie, Colin and Molly! They were super friendly, very considerate, and shared all they had with me, especially their experience and great stories. I'd love to have stayed longer than I did, and definitely would not hesitate to come back again!
