Description
Hello!
My name is Chris and this is my second time on Workaway. In 2022/23 I spent time in Argentina and was lucky enough to volunteer with 2 different hosts and I had the most amazing time, meeting friends that I will have for life. I enjoyed it so much that I am now looking for more opportunities to volunteer and create life long friendships and memories.
I am currently in the UK working as a Financial Analyst and I have decided to take a break in March. Whilst I have worked hard to have a successful career in finance I am now looking to spend time on my other passions: hiking, nature, animals, travelling and meeting new people. I would also love to improve my language skills.
A few "interesting" things about me:
- I currently volunteer as a listener for a charity called the Samaritans, which helps people in
distress
- This year I completed my 5th 100km ultramarathon and ran my 7th marathon
- I love sports and have attended events all over the world including: The Australian Open tennis, soccer matches in China, Cambodia, Italy and more, NBA and NFL in London and the UFC in Las Vegas.
I am hoping to spend my time travelling, getting to know as many fantastic people and learning as many new skills as possible. I am a very curious, open minded person and I am very excited to have the privilege of being welcomed as a volunteer.Languages

Many people think working in finance is boring... and they are 100% right, but I have learned a lot of skills from my job such as computing, project management, communicating with lots of different people and working hard.
Some things I have experience of:
- Gardening
- Sport coaching
- Teaching
- Looking after animals
- Cooking (sometimes badly)
My best skill is being open to trying anything. I like new challenges and will always give my best. I am very active and love being outdoors. I am fit and healthy and enjoy manual work even though my career has been the total opposite!Age

What else ...
Two of my goals in life is to learn to ride horses and to learn to speak another language. I am hoping that I can achieve these things on my trip.
