  • Description

    Hello everyone!
I'm Lisa from Oregon, USA and 2 years ago I left my town to become a full time Workaway nomad.

.....and and I love my life! I’m full of energy and always ready to tackle challenges. I'm a positive happy attitude keeps me energized and happy! I’m hardworking but love to laugh and bring joy to people around me.

Last year I was ready to explore the world thru Workaway. And since then I’ve completed almost 10 and enjoyed each one tremendously! My tasks have ranged from permaculture gardening assistance (I’m a beginner), lots of weeding, poly tunnel work with veggies, Spring house-cleaning, cooking, kitchen prep work, and room painting. it’s been a great way to learn about new cultures, makes new friends and travel. A life now that I love!

Now I travel with one backpack. In the past I was adventurous with my bicycle traveling solo for a year and a half thru many countries. I feel so lucky to have met so many fantastic people traveling slowly and consciously.
    .
Before traveling I was living in Portland, Oregon, USA and now excited to be part of this new community where I’m really energized to meet new people, and build new friendships. Workaways give me purpose and community and each one is unique.

I have a passion for keeping fit and healthy. Running and hiking are some of my favorite activities. I love being outdoors in the fresh air surrounded by nature and hiking is a great way for me to stay active and experience the beauty of the world around me. I feel my best in an active lifestyle.

Food! Veggies! Love food and find joy in being involved in creating delicious meals. I love to use fresh veggies from your garden. I'm also great on prep work - Give me an onion or an eggplant to chop....from the garden.

I love watching a garden grow and being involved in the process. It gives me a sense of purpose and accomplishment . I like the hard work and the feeling of being connected to the earth. i feel alive when outside in the sun getting my hands dirty.

I enjoy the quiet time of weeding too - feels good to see an area look much better after some work on it.

Do you have animals? I would love to work with some animals and learn about goats, chickens, etc . I’m a city girl born but love the country.

I’m social - I love hearing about how people live and other's lives and sharing as well. Not into partying, tobacco or illegals. Just a simple gal from New York City!

My background includes a stint in archeology after college and I love architecture, history and art. I love to wander a city looking at the buildings and hitting museums to understand where I am.
I’ve also had cooking jobs - that’s been a long time ago - but I can still prep work like there is no tomorrow! I enjoy more natural food styles and love to help with preserving and canning fruits - maybe from your garden?

I’ve done a lot of customer service work in medical care, hotels and offices and love to give people a great experience. Everyone should be happy!

I am quick with a kitchen knife - a couple of jobs working in restaurants taught me how to prep quickly - and I enjoy spending time in the kitchen. I’ve canned grapes from my backyard into grape jelly and pears into pear chutney. Love growing foods I can eat. and I like working hard out in the garden to get it.

I traveled extensively solo on a bicycle doing all my own mechanics so I am handy and quick to learn. I enjoy outdoor activity, hiking, biking, running, that keeps me health and like to contribute physical labor that keeps me strong. And I’m also a good listener - For the past 12 years I’ve worked caring for people with cancer, holding their hand, listening while they go through their journey.

My cats have been important to me - I have had four in my life and gained experience giving them meds when they were sick and hugs when they were cute and adorable!
