Description

Hi my name is Ashlea. I am 29 years old and from Johannesburg currently living in the Netherlands. Growing up in South Africa, and for most of my childhood frequently visiting conservation areas including the Pilansberg Game Reserve and Kruger National Park (a world-renowned reserve known for its immense biodiversity) ensured that I have always had a deep appreciation for and interest in the natural world. The economic and social situations in South Africa have resulted in frequent clashes between people and the natural world. This has sadly caused a considerable amount of environmental damage and unchecked development which has led to habitat fragmentation and gross destruction. It is for this reason that I have a degree in Environmental Science and during the past couple of years have been active in several conservation volunteering experiences. I would describe myself as an adventurous, enthusiastic, kind and loving person with a keen interest in learning and sharing new skills and experiences. As a recent graduate I feel as though I want to travel and explore the world as much as possible trying to learn new languages and experience new cultures. Some of my hobbies include horseback riding, scuba diving, hiking, gardening and anything to do with nature and outdoors! My main goal in life is to help uplift local and minority communities as well as help educate people about current environmental issues. I would love to be a worker on your project, so please pick me! :)
