Hey, I'm Aoife ! I'm an enthusiastic, creative, curious and joyful person, always ready to discover new skills, beliefs, ways of life, languages !

I'm a Master in natural and social environmental science - so both Ecology and Anthropology, and I'm passionate about biodiversity conservation and how to preserve our beautiful planet while also fighting for the rights of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.

But although I love my studies, I'm still very uncertain about the direction I want to give to my life : researcher ? Eco-feminist activist ? Sailing around the world with my partner ? Travel journalist ? Poet or novelist? Stop-motion artist?

So that is why I'm currently taking a gap year from my studies to explore the world outside academia and to dedicate myself fully to my other passions. So far since September, I've travelled to Turkey from France by train, bus, hitch-hiking and on foot to meet pilgrims walking to Jerusalem and discover what moved them to undertake such a journey; I've written the story of this journey as a Tale mixing prose and poetry; I've worked at a sailing school; I've moved to another country where I'm currently writing, learning woodworking and working as a postwoman !

Now, I'm looking for the next step, in which I hope to learn new skills, meet amazing people and share a little bit of life with you! I'm very versatile, both in my abilities to learn but also in my interests - I love discovering new hobbies through my encounters ! For a small insight into what I enjoy : reading, writing, dancing, wild swimming, walking barefoot, hiking, singing (in the shower haha), sharing music, cooking (especially my indian grandad's dahl recipe and French crepes !), sewing, smiling, looking at clouds, sunsets, stars, waves, the flame of a candle or a fire (I'll stop now but I could go on for ages!).

I would say my main skill is curiosity, since without the energy it gives me, I wouldn't have had half the adventures I've had, nor acquired any of my other skills !

I'm very creative :) I write, I love doing dramatic readings of stories, I make short stop-motion animations, have basic sewing skills and every journey is an excuse to get better at photography! One of my favourite things is to learn new arts and crafts - at the moment, the newest addition is woodworking !

Languages : I speak English, French and German, and would be glad to teach you or to learn your language from you !

And amongst other things which I've probably forgotten, I have some basic sailing and boat maintenance knowledge, I love playing around with paint, I'm a huge fan of any board game, I can tap-dance, have a great memory (especially for poetry and song lyrics), am a good horse-rider, love caring for animals (and also humans!) and I play the violin - although I'm quite rusty, I enjoy a good fiddle tune and just love being around live music !
