Travelling
Description
Hi! We are Alvaro (38) and Adriana (34).
We both grew up in Lima, Peru, and we have been living in Mexico City for 4 years so far. We have traveled and volunteered since we met (like 10 years ago!) and now we are taking a sabbatical to do the same for a longer time. We are super excited!
Traveling in search of wholesome experiences has always been the ultimate form of traveling for us, and the unknown has always thrilled us. Arriving at new places without knowing what we'll find, meeting new people and learning from them, really fills us with joy.
Funny enough though, this is the first time we try Workaway, so we are very new to this platform, but not to volunteering. We have volunteered together in Peru, Mexico, India, US... and also individually in other countries. Hope we can soon find more to do here. We'd love to share experiences with hosts and other Workawayers so that we can plan our next!Interests

Alvaro:
I'm a mechanical engineer and love to work with tools. I'm also a rusty automobile technician. I really like to do manual work and love to learn new skills (for example carpentry). I have some basic welding skills in Oxy, MIG, and TIG. I can also cook (I'll make very good ceviche and other Mexican and Peruvian food). I have worked on farms for several years, especially with grapes and avocados. I'm fluent in Spanish, English, and know some basic Portuguese
Adriana:
I'm a psychologist and have been working for several years in human development, mindfulness, teaching, and implementing innovative learning tools. In some previous volunteer activities, I have taught languages (English, Spanish, and French), given courses and sessions on mental wellness, designed and facilitate workshops, etc. I'm also good at manual work like painting, gardening, and outdoor tasks. I'm a good baker as well (some of my dessert recipes can cause addiction.. I warn you)Age

What else ...
Alvaro would be really interested in working and learning more about carpentry, internal systems of moving homes (boats and campervans), and sailing.
Adriana would love to work and learn more about farming, cooking, meditation, animal caring, painting, and art projects.
We love board games... Have been kind of addicted to backgammon lately, but we also love Settlers of Catan, Monopoly Deal, and some others.
We will likely have a small car with us.Some more information

First of all, the place is truly spectacular. It is located above the Urubamba Valley (Sacred Valley), on a little traveled road coming from Maras. The views of the valley and snow-capped mountains are very special. It is a remote location but close to many places of interest such… read more
Very cool people! We had a great time! I was sad when they left.
I live in an old house [300-500 yrs old] that is not quite off-grid but with fewer modern amenities than many who are truly offgrid. This means that Workaway help-guests find themselves immersed in an experience that exceeds most contemporary definitions of modern sustainability. In truth, my existence is more in keeping with… read more
