Description
Helloooo,
My name is Aaron and I was born and grew up in London. I have been working as a part-time gardener for the last year, however I put the next 5 months or so set aside to travel around and live in Colombia. I am looking to go and immerse myself somewhere beautiful with some lovely people and one of my main aims is to improve on my Spanish speaking. I am a fairly confident speaker, but there are still a few gaps in my knowledge and I need to work on my fluency. I would love to come and help out with anything ecological, musical, culinary, charitable and/or crafty (as these are my main interests), but would also be open to other occupational suggestions. My main policy would be to speak Spanish for the entirety of my stay; however, I am also willing to teach English/speak English if a language exchange is preferable.
I have a TEFL certificate and had been teaching on and off over the last few years. I have taught both online and as a teaching assistant at various different primary schools, so I am very good with kids and know how to organise and teach lessons. I love teaching and the rewarding feeling you get when one of your students learns something new. Since schools finished, I've been gardening. I've picked up quite a bit of knowledge on different plants found in the UK and am super keen to learn more- especially in about plant species' in different countries. I am heavily in favour of permaculture as a the best approach to cultivating land, and would love to learn more about the practices surrounding it.
I am an easy-going and chatty person, and I generally love learning; whether it's new skills, or learning about people's backgrounds and experiences. I am well-travelled, having been to New Zealand, South-East Asia, Jordan and many other amazing countries (we should have lots to speak about).
I hope my profile is of interest to you and I look forward to spending some time getting to know new places and faces :)
All the best,
AaronInterests

Primarily, I would like to bring my Spanish back up to a good level. I learnt Spanish at school and haven't since spoken it much, however I have relatives in Spain and think Spanish is such a beautiful language and so would like to improve on my Spanish-speaking abilities to the point at which I can speak confidently and fluently. I am also interested in getting my french back up to a decent level as well! I am in a similar situation with french in that I studied it at school and really enjoyed it. Lastly, I am open to learning any new languages, from Italian to German.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

My other skills include gardening, cooking and music production/ songwriting! I've been gardening for the last few months since schools finished. This has entailed hedge trimming, weeding, planting and general garden maintenance (mowing lawns, cleaning patios etc.).
I am also keen to work in renovation, my skills are limited in this field but I have done some bits and bobs in construction, building structures like green walls and trellises. I am generally pretty fit and spend a lot of my time climbing, so I'm capable when it comes to manual labour.
Additionally, I spent 8 months working as a chef at a café near my house in North London. I cooked a variety of meals spanning from Dahl, to pan-seared sea bream and a wide range of breakfast dishes. I really enjoy cooking and will happily cook meals for my host (s) and/or any other residents. I am keen to get into baking as well, so I'd be keen to spend some time learning about that if I have the opportunity to.
On a slight side note, I have been spending a lot of my time producing music with a friend of mine. I am a vocalist and have been learning how to play the piano (very slowly hahah). I'm not sure whether this is relevant to any job roles, but music means a lot to me and if there is the chance to make it or speak about it then you have my full attention!Age
