Description
Me and my husband moved to Portugal 2002. So quite a looooong time already in this beautyful country. The land which we can call our own used to be a desert. We turned it into a lush green Paradies.. My husband, Nils, is making sure it keeps on growing and he always needs help with that. Our forest food garden needs care taking, as well as our big permaculture gardens. So next to helping on the land there are some other every day jobs to do. Since we are also renting some accommodations on our land , we need to take care of the outdoor forest bathroom everyday, as well as the community kitchen next to the little pool, and of course the animals need daily attention, such as feeding and cleaning. We have 4 horses, two pigs, and some chickens. We also have dogs and cats. It’s nice and interesting because there are totally different jobs to do and it won’t get boring. Some of the jobs you will do by yourself and others include interaction with us and our guests. Our guests are mostly families who want to enjoy nature and tranquility and good easy vibes. The kids love it to pick fresh tomatoes from the garden. It’s holiday on a permaculture farm. If you are an open happy person connected well to our guests and friends they will be more than happy to take you to the beach. As soon as there are waves nils is off the beach for sure and you have the chance to go to the beach with him as well. We pay the minimum wage in Portugal, which would be for a 4 hour working day €10. Furthermore we of course provide good food, living and lots of good times. You will self cater yourself for breakfast ( we pay) most days we will share a meal together.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
During summer we have all kinds of people staying on our farm and it is quite vivid. Easy to talk with people from all over the world and connect in an easy going, relaxed environment. Next to high season we have long term guests on the farm and it feels more like a small comunity life.

Help
Hello lovely people. I mainly seek help during the summer month. Daily tasks are taking care of the forest bathroom, the community kitchen and the pool area. Feeding the horses, pigs and chickens as well as keeping their stables clean.

We have a small but nice roofed caravan for you to stay in which is located in our little Akazienforest.
What else ...
You will most likely always find people who can take you to the beach or other places. If we go somewhere we are also happy to take you. We have a motorcicle. If you have a drving lisense for a 125cc you are welcome to use it once in a while to be more flexible. The beaches are stunning, one beach is more beautiful than the other. Local markets take care on a regular basis. But really, this area is for people who enjoy nature and tranquility. Lagos of course is nice to see and milfontes as well. But that’s where sightseeing really ends. Hiking through the monchique mountains is great or the walk to the beach.
