    Description

A great opportunity to dive into the workings of an organic farm in the middle of mountains, learn by doing, meditation amidst fireflies, private water falls and connect with nature.
Hi everyone! This is Prem. Our farm is in Padavayal village near Thavalam, Kerala. We have nearly 5 acres of land that is streamside and in hills with Arecanut, pepper and banana cultivation. We also planted some fruit trees like star fruit, orange, mango, Jack fruit, berry, guavas, passion fruit, custard apple, green apple and other fruit tree saplings which is in growing stage. We are very interested in sustainable living, permaculture, meditation and being with nature. Its a paradise with lots of fireflies!

We just bought the land one year before so we need lots of ideas and projects to do.
*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ We are looking for a few folks who want to help us for building tree house with bamboos and local woods. There may be time also to help out with the building project.
    * For painting and artwork for the exisiting house.
    * Watering and tending the existing trees/gardens, making our land more and more a paradise!
    * Planting new saplings and growing vegetables.

Our hobbies and passions are cooking, traveling, animals, gardening, crafts, reading books, watching fireflies every night etc.,
We have another farm at Tamilnadu sometimes will visit there and look after some family business at Coimbatore.

Always welcome: volunteers with gardening, land-work, carpentry and natural building skills!
Also amazing if you are into natural building, architectural design and permaculture. And if you are a musician and can teach us some of your skills and passion!
We would be delighted to share with you our interests for organic farming, meditation etc.
Lovers of good tea and coffee are invited!

Great nature is here everywhere and nearby so feel free to explore it. We have a private waterfalls(but not in summer 4months) inside our property. Silent Valley National park is nearby which has some rare species of flora and fauna. You can get an indepth look into the village life, as it hasn't changed much here. I can take you on trips to the local food joints and view points if needed.

This is a great place to learn about working and living off the land in a very sustainable way. You will experience living closely with nature and a more simple lifestyle away from city life. Among others you will get a taste of gardening, construction, cooking and if desired meditation. The long you stay the more you can learn. We would love to share our Indian culture and tradition with you.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have one guest portion with Indian toilet.
We provide the space for volunteers to pitch their own tents with beautiful views of mountains. You will receive a mattress and pillow, but you will need your own sleeping bag.

Two meals per day included. We eat together as it is time to see each other and discuss. Traditional South Indian meals are no problem for us to prepare and we can teach you how to make them. If you can cook your typical and favorite meal we would be happy.

We have an outer kitchen which volunteers use to cook their own meals and keep clean and orderly. The site is picturesque, very remote and 10 minutes walk from the nearest grocery store and bus stop.
We give a high importance to using water intelligently and not wasting any.

We genuinely want our volunteers to be happy and thus would like to make our call for people that enjoy outdoor living, are easy going, flexible, can do tasks alone sometimes and feel relaxed with nature. We also stress the importance of having orderliness, cleanliness and mind fullness in all our activities.
