Description
We are Chereyne and Brett. We share our time between Myoko and Kingscliff Australia. Winter sports started as family vacations in the Snowy Mountains of NSW with our two boys many years ago and evolved into a seasonal lodge business in the Japanese Alps.
Brett loves snowboarding, especially in the backcountry has been a passion for over 25years. When he is not clearing snow Brett has great information on local weather and snow conditions, ski resort choices, snowshoeing, sightseeing and backcountry activities around Myoko.
Chereyne is a qualified chef who also works as a teacher of Hospitality, Tourism and Events in Australia. Focusing on fresh seasonal produce sourced locally, Chereyne has 35 years of hospitality experience that ensures incredible healthy meals and a wine list to match. Assistance with travel planning to and from Myoko, local onsen choices and sightseeing are all questions that Chereyne is happy to help with.Types of help and learning opportunities
Hospitality/TourismCultural exchange and learning opportunities
Myoko Kogen has been a popular destination for winter tourism for over a hundred years. You will be able to learn about the history of the area, local foods and specialties, as well as enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings, powder snow, hot spring baths, ski resorts, ancient shrines and amazing waterfalls. Stay with us and experience the highlights of Myoko. During winter and early spring an average of 13 meters of powder snow blankets the terrain of the local ski resorts. The well known Akakura Kanko is just 6 minutes away with 5 other ski resorts within 15 minutes of our lodge. Not keen on skiing or snowboarding? Visit town like Nagano or Joetsu for galleries, museums or shopping.

Help
We are looking for a working couple from 20th December 2024 until the 9th March 2025 to work the winter season at our snow lodge in Myoko Japan.
Ideally you would be expected to work together sharing the tasks. This would be day on - day off and share the role with another live in couple; working alongside a chef and the lodge hosts. It's a live in, paid position. Double bed private room, breakfast 7 days and staff dinner on shift. Lunch, snacks, drinks and alcohol not included.
Ideally would like hospitality experience, as tasks include front of house breakfast and dinner service, bar service, guest services, front desk reception, housekeeping and general area cleaning. Must have an international driver's licence for guest transfers to and from the lodge to resorts.
We are looking for a respectful, enthusiastic, self-motivated couple to assist our team at the lodge. A couple who want to experience lodge life, happy to chat with guests, happy to wake up early and not party people would be ideal.Languages
