Description
I am a counsellor here on Galiano and my husband, Jack, is a full time musician. We have three kids aged 18, 15, and 12. We live in the forest on 8 acres that backs on to an extensive trail system about a 20 minute walk to the ocean. Galiano is a beautiful island with a small population of 1,400 people. If you love nature, you will love it here. Our house is always full of music and books, and at any given moment someone will be making art of some kind.

Help
We are hoping for help with small projects like building an outdoor sauna, gardening, small property maintenance projects like windfall clean up, fires or trail building, and some building repairs. Carpentry skills are not a must but would be very beneficial.

You will be staying in a red airstream trailer with one comfortable queen sized bed and one comfortable single bed. This trailer is located under an apple tree slightly away from the house for privacy. The bathroom and kitchen are in the main house.
We will provide a home cooked meal for dinner. Ingredients will be available for you to help yourself and prepare your own breakfast and lunch. Meals will be vegetarian. We love delicious food. What else ...
This island is beautiful for kayaking, cycling, hiking and lying around on the beach. If you like to be in nature, you will like this place. There is no public transit on the island, so folks either drive, cycle or hitchhike. We are happy to share our car and bicycles with you when we are able to.
We are kind, open minded people and our household is a place where everyone is accepted. We expect that of our visitors as well. Workaways that stay with us must be queer friendly and respectful of gender diversity as we have two non-binary teens. We are layed back and communicate in a straightforward way.
