Description
We are members of a community project located south of qathet (Powell River), BC. We have been working together since 2015 and on our site since the beginning of 2019. We have built 6 natural homes. But the exterior clay finishing is still to be completed.
We are a multi-generational group that lives together on this beautiful 40 acre property. There is a beautiful year round river, with swimming holes along one border, 2 creeks, & 3 ponds. We presently have 7 families living on site - ages from 2 to 77. The community uses sociocracy for our governance and organization. We hold meetings once a month, which you would be welcome to sit in on.
We will be completing the construction of 2 homes this summer doing the final clay plastering on the exterior. We are looking for people who could help and learn more about clay house construction. We are looking for help in June July and August.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Learning about group communication and decision making - our governance model of Sociocracy has been used here for 7+ years and is a great model to witness and learn from. You may attend meetings and see it in action first hand.
We live in a rural setting about 20 minutes away from the city of Powell River. We have beautiful grounds, with lots of water around for hot days! There is a gorgeous ocean beach about a 10 minute walk away (along a forest path).
There are 4 natural built homes on site (slip/chip & hyperadobe styles) and 2 more being built this summer. Always room to learn about this!
English is our spoken language, and there are folks here who speak French & Spanish.Help
We are looking for some help with a natural building project. The home is timber frame (which is going up in the next month) and then will be needing help with the chip slip walls.
