    Description

Opportunity at this award winning quiet historic landmark inn & private park in the heart of Louisville to learn/practice skills in historic home maintenance, gardening & traditional house painting. As a preservationist, it would be great to share additional knowledge in a variety of trades depending on your interests.
Summers are beautiful in Louisville; we have 9 long term guest suites plus a few house concerts; that’s when hospitality comes into play! The Manor is convenient to several groceries, eateries and shopping along nearby Bardstown Road. We would provide a complimentary suite with private bath and kitchenette. The manor also has a large furnished kitchen plus laundry room for your use. I look forward to learning how we can work together with your interests.

As a long time Kentuckian, there’s lots of local places to share, depending on your interests. (I hosted many exchange students from all over the world when my kids were teens, sharing our beautiful city)

This convenient location is a block from bus service to downtown Louisville’s many entertainment, music & bourbon venues & cross country Greyhound Bus Service connecting to Chicago, Nashville, etc.

Be part of our team at The Manor where history loves company!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

This quiet historic retreat is a refuge for busy professionals staying for a month minimum. Most are extremely low maintenance. If anything needs attention, they call me, so no need to stick around after the 4-5 hours unless previously arranged with you.

Depending on your interests, there’s so much to explore and things to do in the Louisville area. Lots of information is online as well as books & brochures at the inn. Louisville has a vibrant music and theater scene, including our free Shakespeare in the Park series.

    I personally live/love to travel.
On language skills, some French & German & Spanish; university degree is in Geography with Masters in Urban Planning. Enjoyed making maps and teaching this skill in schools & university. Still curious & learning. I enjoy renovating unique places & feel respect & communication is vital to working relationships to achieve a joint or community vision.
