Description
Hey.
We are a five person household living in Whitfield (Cairns).
Our house is 6 bedrooms so you will have somewhere to sleep that is just for you.
We also have a puppy (Mochi) and 6 chickens. The garden is large and sprawling and we are close to edge hill cultural precinct, botanic gardens, and walking tracks.
We are eco conscious. Not a party house. Enjoy cultural exchange and political discussion.
We would prefer workaway guests to be over 30 and femme/non-binary folx. Unfortunately due to having teenage girls in the house we do not accept any male guests for safety. We also prefer if you have a working with children check (blue card) but it is not required.
We enjoy people who like sharing books they have read, games they enjoy to play, meals they enjoy cooking, or some other enjoyable home life activity.
Our house can be a little crazy and we are often busy so you should have plenty of time to yourself.Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
Hi.
We are looking for people who are willing to contribute meaningfully to the household.
We have two teenage daughters who love games and we would love if you can help with their homework.
The garden requires frequent weeding and mulching.
The house requires maintenance including, the irrigation system needs checking, the chicken coop needs some maintenance, the lawn requires some care, etc.
We are open to home cooked meals and our dog loves going for a walk.Languages
Languages spoken
English: Fluent
Nepali: FluentThis host offers a language exchange
We would love to welcome Spanish and Japanese speakers as well as Nepali speakers into our home. We are interested in learning languages and would love to share yours!Accommodation
We have a double bed in a private room. This is simple accommodation and as we are in the tropics we can be prone to having mosquitoes. Shared bathroom. The room is not very fancy but the mattress is comfortable.
What else ...
We would like to support homestayers from diverse communities and happily accept LGBTQIA applicants, those with disabilities and people from all cultures.
Our home is unfortunately not disability friendly as it is two storey. However, if you have any questions about accessibility I am happy to answer them or make appropriate accommodations to make your stay possible if you have physical limitations.
We are neurodiversity accepting also and happy to facilitate sensory or other unique requests if able.
We do not accept racism, sexism, ableism or other forms of discrimination and would request you do not stay with us if these are behaviours you participate in.A little more information
