    Description

Hello, great to cross paths with you! I'm Laura a Kiwi (from New Zealand) living in Nacala, Northern Mozambique! I've been in Northern Mozambique 9 years as I am founder of a small grass roots, Christian faith based non profit.

We work to empower and equip vulnerable young women with true identity, education, new skills and employment. We teach artisanal skills, hospitality, beauty, health, literacy, identity, and small business as our goal is to open social business for them in future for them to have employment.

We are looking for some specialised volunteers in the following areas to help us in the areas we work...

    - Construction / builder - as we continue to develop areas of our womens center and social enterprises. This is an urgent need of our until 15 December. Prior to the beginning of rainy season

    - Cook/ chef/ baker teacher - someone experienced in cooking and baking able to help teach the basics of a kitchen as well as brunch focused food and baked goods/bread. (November - 10 December 2024, Feb 15 - May 2025)

    - Barista training in our vocational training programs (March - May 2025)

    - Sewing / experienced in sewing and able to assist in teaching out local team specific new designs.

This cafe is part of our Vocational Training Program and no foreigners are paid for this - only our graduates as a way to help them out of the cycle of exploitation.

We're right on the Indian ocean which means swims after work on hot days, fresh seafood from the market, snorkelling or boat rides on weekends and a beautiful view. We’re 30 minutes from Nacala city (assessable with public transport) And we're only 2 hours drive from the beautiful historic Island of Mozambique with stunning Portuguese heritage homes and Mozambican culture! Here in Northern Mozambique it's summer all round!

Myself and our team would would love to hear from you.

PLEASE NOTE as we are a formally registered non profit organisation working with vulnerable people this means we do have an application process for anyone wishing to volunteer their time with us. We assess every application, however placement as a volunteer within the organisation is dependent on an approved application and space within our volunteer program.
