    Description

We have a lifestyle block 5 minutes from Pukekohe, forty five minutes south of Auckland CBD. I’m an artist and my husband works in Auckland city. We spend most of our time developing and maintaining our small lifestyle farm, and could really use and appreciate a helping hand or two.
We have a few hectares to explore of mature native bush full of native birds and complete with glow worms, streams, waterfalls and swimming ponds and a variety of animals including a small flock of very friendly sheep, cats, chickens, ducks and peacocks that mostly free roam and turtles and cockatiels. There’s a large vege garden, propagation shade house, berries, an interesting variety of fruit & nut trees tucked in every corner. And a glass casting & pottery artists studio.
We are offering a comfortable fully self contained unit for accomodation with wifi and it’s own private bathroom in exchange for help around the property that has lots of projects on the go, particularly with weeding, planting, cleaning, painting and animal care.
We can comfortably accommodate from one to four travellers, preferably with own transport. This would be a great base to explore the Auckland, Waikato and Coromandel regions.
We are ideally seeking guests looking to stay at least three days and willing to put in three hours help per day or fifteen hours per week in exchange for accommodation. Willing to discuss options for meals or any extra skilled labour in building projects you can offer.
Previously when living in the city, we enjoyed hosting hundreds of international guests through other platforms, many that extended their stay and came and enjoyed time at the farm. We look forward to sharing our very special property with many more.

We really have a bit of everything to do at the farm and sometimes its a bit more seasonal with fruit picking. Right now we have native trees that need planting and invasive species that need pulling out. The vege garden and shadehouse need regular attention and there is often cleaning and painting to be done around the farm buildings.
The animals will always need feeding. sheep, chickens, Ducks and peacocks.
Basic restoration of the native bush and making treks down to the waterfalls, of which we have a few.
