    Description

    Helloo everybody!

We are a bunch of people living in a house in Dannenrod. We are happy about others who want to come and live with us for some time and help out with projects and care work. The guesthouse is a feminist political house project, which developed itself in Dannenrod after the "Danni" forest occupation and has its roots in the political struggle for solidarity and justice for people and nature.

We are self-organized in houses and taking care of two fields. On one of them we are starting with somehow ecological agriculture and experimenting to learn how to care for the ground and plants. Besides this, we are engaged in feminist political struggels, on our yard there is a bike repair workshop, we are organizing different kinds of cultural events and political education.
We are more or less 10 - 15 people, many of us between 20 - 35 years old and we are expecting of the people in the project to be open-minded towards integrating themselves in social structures. All kinds of care here (cooking, cleaning etc.) is communally organized and people should be ready to take part in this autonomously.

The rest is about organizing your daily life yourself and what you want to do. You are free to decide when and how you help. It would be best if you'd be a help for this place and support the structures instead of taking advantage of them, but we're sure we'll figure that out together. We are discussing our projects and other important things in plenaries or small groups and have trust in autonomous decissions. You can participate and decide where you would like to join and help out, so it is easy to find tasks but it is not like we have a daily plan and structure prepared for you.

Discriminination: We want people here to treat others with respect and we do not tolerate sexist, cis-sexist, racist and other discriminating behaviour and speech that reproduces oppression. We understand that people come from different backgrounds and we are all not perfect and do not know everything that hurts others. Mistakes are okay but people should be willing to reflect on themselves and be able to change their behaviour.

Animals: we have a lot of dogs here. If you have a dog yourself, tell us before. If you are afraid of dogs or can't live inside with them, it would be a difficult place for you to stay. We also have one outside cat and one cat inside one of the houses. If you are allergic to cats it can be arranged that you are not in the same place.

Do you have further questions about the place and the opportunities? Feel free to get in contact with us!
We are looking forward to get to know new people!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You can experience a culture of people who want to change something about the way we live (together) and treat our environment. Many of us define themselves as left-wing or alternative, feminists and critically thinking about mainstream society. There are many people here with lots of knowledge and you can learn a lot of practical things or on how to learn stuff from the internet :D It is a big skill to learn how to selforganize and structure yourself around the things and structures you consider as important and find some pleasure and motivation in what you do.

    Help

It would be awesome if you have interest in agricultural tasks, and are willing to collect knowledge with us. Cooking, cleaning and other care-work should be tasks you take part in. You can help with the bike-repair place, building new stuff, repairing or being creative around the house. You could organize talks or workshops or movie-events. You see it depends on your interests and skills.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You can have a room or share a room or live in a trailor or bring your trailor/car or whatever yourself. It also depends on your needs. Please contact us before and we can talk what is available, what we can arrange and if this is according to what you want.

Dinner is organised communal: every night there is one or two people cooking for everyone, it would be nice if you could imagine doing this too. Breakfast and lunch is prepared individually, or you find some agreements with others to organise it as a group. There is always enough food in the house for everyone, however if you have some special needs or wishes you have to take care about this (like sweet stuff or similar). The most of our food we get by foodsharing, some stuff we are ordering. If you can contribute to the costs it is nice but we organise that according to the financial situation and free will. It is part of the idea of contributing together to a nice community atmosphere and the care tasks, so you can see it as part of helping hours to sometimes cook for everyone. Also you can decide yourself how many helping hours you feel like in exchange to the food and accomodation situation.

    What else ...

We are a bit off-road but people are driving regularly to cities (with one of the two communal cars) where you could join for some grocery shopping and so on. There are also bus connections nearby, or you can take one of our communal bikes, which makes you a bit more flexible. Also we have a lot of program here ourselves, like workshops, sport, film evenings or parties. You can also go hiking in the area or have a trip (with others) to the cities around.
