Description
Hello
We are Karrina and David, a young Romanian-German family living together with our two beautiful children, Ninuk and Jonah, in the Apuseni mountains in Romania, in a gorgeous village called Tarcea.
Tarcea is a countryside, postural village. It is also very small, in fact so small that the name is only known by the few people who live here, we and three other local families. There are probably more animals living in here than people :) As said by our visitors, Tarcea is truly a magical, idyllic place.
To get to Tarcea, you drive up the mountain via a small road and through a forest, till a point where it suddenly opens up to this beautiful place that leaves you breathless.
The only thing missing for Tarcea to be complete is to have other people and families since we truly believe that it is the perfect place to create a small familiar community.
Our idea for Tarcea would be having a few evenings per week where we cook together, sit around a fire, organise workshops and help each other with different projects. All this while our kids are running around playing with each other in a little paradise. Just close your eyes for a second and imagine…
THIS IS WHY WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU TO BE OUR NEIGHBOUR!
We would like to create an international village community, where everyone has their own property, but where we also aim to share, help and support.
Some of our current and future projects are to learn and try to be self-sustainable while applying permaculture principles, have animals, do unschooling, produce seminars/retreats where people could come and reconnect to themselves and nature again, and so much more! The potential of Tarcea is truly never-ending.
There are several properties around us which are abandoned and could be bought. We also have quite a lot of land (8ha) from which we would be happy to give some to you in order to help you start building your own home.
There is so much more we could write about, however, if at this point you found yourself inspired by the idea and interested, we strongly encourage you to simply contact us. We would love to provide you with more information and get to know you better.
We would also love for you to share this post with others that might be interested.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Like mentioned before, our interest is not primarily to find people who want to help at our place but who could imagine a life in the Romanian mountains. Of course we are welcoming any helping hand though since we have many plans, projects and ideas.
We want to offer you a beautiful experience, a place where you can find your way back to yourself and mother nature. The place we live at is the perfect spot just for that. With the most beautiful virgin nature all around you, you will feel like in a bubble where you are safe and protected.
I myself (Karrina) did workaway, and I remember that one workaway that changed my life, because it allowed me to find myself. This is what I also wish for people to find at our place.
And if not that, then at least a bit of peace and relaxation, and MOST OF ALL to fall in love with the place and hopefully never wanna leave again.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
