Description
A mother with a 10 year old.
Massive edible garden, just gone in. Work in progress, and I love it.
Big dogs, small animals. Plenty of eggs for breakfast, and hopefully you like to bake.Types of help and learning opportunities

I love gardening and am interested in Permaculture. Have travelled reasonably well and am open to new people and cultures.
Greytown is a lovely little historic village, with great access to a beautiful region. It's become a bit of a tourist town.
It's got great shopping and really friendly locals. If you are looking for a summer job then you'll be snapped up quickly, and I can help with this.
It used to be called the fruit bowl of the region, but now wine and olives are the main crops here.
Wairarapa has a lot going for it and there is public transport.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
I would like help in the house and garden. I can teach you all about edible weeds, and food crops.
It’s a new, large garden. Plenty of planting out. Seed sowing. Harvesting. Looking after small animals.
You’ll learn how to start out. How to grow food crops, and succession planting.
Please only apply if you can self manage and get on with stuff without too much direction. I’ll show you the place, and you should be able to see what needs to be done in regards to the cleaning.
Abundant vegetables, eggs, and herbs. You will eat a rainbow!
You will need to be fine with pet meat and steak smells. Vegetarians have tried, and whilst they loved their meals, the smell of steak was hard for them.
Also, my child will be fascinated by you, you MUST like children to be happy here. Please do not apply if you do not have experienced LIVING with children.Languages

The child was learning Japanese for a while. Any language welcomed.Accommodation
I’ve just moved in and there are boxes of books everywhere. Hope you like reading. Would love help shifting the boxes around.
Your room is the office. We can make it more private, with your help. It’s all yours after 8:30pm.
Non-smoking.
Due to strong interest I would prefer you have a plan formulated and a good reason to visit Greytown before you make contact, this is mainly because I'm answering many emails with too broad date ranges.
Please do not send generic requests as I probably can't make a decision until closer to the time. Short notice is actually easier!
Please commit. I understand plans change, but I will supermarket shop in preparation for you. Only contact me if you are definitely coming. What else ...
This listing is best suited to people on there way to somewhere else & would like a little break in a beautiful location. There are many wonderful things to do locally. Wine, olives, fishing, hunting, tramping, cycling, more. I will help as much as I can.

A delight to have in the house. Listened, happy, enthusiastic. Doubled up well with another Workawayer that was staying at the same time. Would recommend Jonas, and would welcome him back.
Best wishes!
It was one of my best weeks so far in NZ.
The work was always really fair and never felt like real work. Watering the plants, cleaning inside the house, helping trimming the hedges,...
They were really flexible, because they let me stay even they got the other… read more
We had a wonderful time at your home! Thank you for everything!
We can only recommend this family.
We had a lot of nice chats around the dinner table. They made us excellent coffee, and teached us how to be a real barista ;). The wine and the food they cooked were delicious. Our room was very nice. Brent drove us… read more
Thank you for being wonderful! We loved having you here. Theo keeps asking when you will come back from the train, I think he will always remember you.
To anyone who wants a really lovely couple, tidy, courteous, self-motivated, and just really pleasant to have around, then pick these two. Probably the best you'll ever… read more

It worked out so well for us too. You are the perfect Workaway house guest and I wish I had booked you to stay longer. I loved that you managed yourself and your time and you really excelled with the tasks completed. You went above and beyond with Theo and you are welcome here anytime, as a worker or… read more
I really enjoyed my stay with this lovely little family. They made me feel welcome straight away. The work was just perfectly balanced between doing some gardening and playing with Theo (an absolutely lovely and very cute child). What I really liked was , that Michelle gave me a list with different tasks, so I could choose what I… read more
