    Description

This is a developing permaculture demonstration center 45 minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta. We are seeking volunteers to implement permaculture design elements such as earthworks, earthbag building, composting toilet construction, and a water catchment system. Experience with solar, electric installation, or plumbing a plus. The house has 3 rooms available, 2 with a shared bathroom and one with a bathroom en-suite. There is also a studio and rooftop terrace. We are located in a small village outside of puerto Vallarta, 1 block from the river, and 45 minutes walking to natural hotsprings. The village is full of cowboys and horses, chickens and delicious local food including a wood fired bakery and locally grown elotes en vaso. Childcare could also be exchanged with the right female candidate. We have 2 young children, 1.5 and 3.5 living in the first floor. Guests will be accommodated in the second floor. There are also 3 friendly dogs living outside. I have lived here 5 years, and am a wildland firefighter with 17 years experience in the States. I am striving to create a place where the local community and visitors alike can benefit and learn from permaculture principles, in turn making the world a bit better for my children.
