Description
Welcome to Sicily! We are a network of family farms and regenerative projects in mainly on the west coast of the island with the main site as a 6 hectare land with an established olive orchard, wine vineyard and a newly planted 3 hectare syntropic agroforestry system in the comune of Castellammare del Golfo.
We are growing moringa, avocados and other tropical fruits like mangos and bananas and more temperate types like almonds and hazelnuts to pioneer a mixed Mediterranean consortium of preferred plants
We are just minutes from the beautiful coast and the popular tourist destination of Scopello. There are many places to explore around the area like the Segesta hot springs, and Palermo city is just an hour away.Types of help and learning opportunities

What else ...
We are looking for people who are passionate about syntropic agroforestry, permaculture, regenerative economics, and who can stay from 2 weeks to 3 months.
Most meals are shared either at the residence or at the farm site. If I'm not home, the kitchen is at your disposal. All I ask is to clean up after yourself. I can provide staples like pasta and rice and veggies to have on hand if you're hungry at home. There's also beach bars and loads of restaurants if you feel like venturing into Scopello or Castellammare del Golfo.
Palermo Is about an hour drive away. There's also buses and trains from Castellammare del Golfo if you want skip the traffic.
Drivers license and ability to drive manual stick shift are a big bonus as we are in the countryside and driving is a necessity. I have a small car and sometimes will be busy with other appointments so you will need to be rather self sufficient at times.
Having your own car is a big bonus. Speaking Italian is also very helpful as most of the locals don't speak much English. However the main partners in the project are bilingual in English. Also must love dogs as Briscola (dog in profile photo) is the Queen of the castleA little more information
