Description
We are Remco and Ellen (age 50+). We are a dutch couple who lived in several countries to follow our dreams. We lived in France where we build up a succesful campsite, and now we live in a beautiful part of north Norway to build up our next dream.
Our house is surrounded by nature between Brøstadbotn and Sørreisa. In the front we are overlooking the sea towards the beautiful Island of Senja. In our 'backyard' are the mountains of the Børingen where you can hike. Every day, a ferry sails from Brøstadbotn to Tromsø (Paris of the north) where you can experience a part of the north Norwegian culture. The airport Bardufoss is a 40 minute drive.Types of help and learning opportunities

We live in an adorable environment in the middle of nature. Right behind our house you can start hikes through the mountains (Børingentrail), and in the front of our house we see the beautiful island of Senja, a very beautiful and unique place to visit. From the middle of august until the end of march we can see the magical northern lights.

Help
We enjoy sharing our experiences of living above the Arctic Circle and our cultural knowledge about this environment. We are also curious about the life and work experiences of others for our personal grow and we like to share skills and learn from each other. I have a lot of technical experiences in building and love to share it with you. For work that's too big for us, we hire local workers. We need some help with all kind of odd jobs on our property for example gardening and sawing firewood.

We have an apartment underneath our house with two bedrooms, a living room with wood stove and a bathroom (shared with evt. other workawayer). We cook together in our kitchen. You can enter the apartment through a seperate entrance, but also through our house. Our house and apartment is a non-smoking area.

Your stay of nearly two weeks with us was a marvelous first experience with Workaway for us. We worked together in the ongoing project where you showed to be eager to learn new skills. We laughed a lot, while we did serious precise work. It seemed that the words 'No' and 'I don't want' doesn't exist in your dictionary. We learned a lot… read more
How to describe my stay with these wonderful people?
If you are reading this and you are going to stay and share with them, I think you will be a pretty lucky person!
I don't think there are words to describe what it's like to share with people like them.
Every night before going to sleep I gave thanks for finding people like… read more
